“Nenikikamen!” or “νενικήκαμεν” (“We are victorious“) was the cry of Pheidippides (or Phidippides, or again Philippides) when he arrived in Athens after running the 40 km or 26 miles from Marathon to announce the victory of the Greeks over the Persians at the Battle of Marathon in 490 B.C.

“Nenikikamen!”, we believe, is what all runners should shout when they reach the finishing line, whatever the distance covered. Getting there – wherever “there” may be – is the victory all runners seek.
Running should be a celebration, a moment of joy and a break from the trials of life.
That’s why we called this blog about running “Nenikikamen!” and we want to share the joy, but also the difficulties, of running with you.
